anathan’s Binary Pictures. Initially this film was supposed to have Jiiva and Jayam Ravi in the cast but now Arya and Vijay Sethupathi have been signed.

UTV’s Dhananjayan while speaking said, "Many Hollywood stunt actors are acting in this film. The shooting of this high budgeted film will commence during the month of November. This film will be released after our films Sigaram Thodu and Ivan Vera Maathiri are released."

Director S P Jananathan while speaking about this film said, "Arya and Vijay Sethupathi are donning the roles in this film which they have not donned so far. Though the word Purampokku is used to demean others but there is a deep meaning in this word. It has also a historical links with the Tamilians.Mountains, snow, summits, poles, sea, moon and wind are also Purampokku. These are slowly being grabbed by some people. This film will narrate all this with all the commercial ingredients."
